Poetry as Self-Care

There was a time when I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. She smiled, but it was tired. She showed up for everyone but herself. Her crown, once bold, radiant, and high felt heavy, slipping under the weight of grief, heartbreak, and years of pretending to be “okay.”
So I picked up a pen.
And the pen picked me up.
Writing became my healing ritual. Not polished or perfect, but raw and real. I wrote through tears. I wrote through silence. And slowly, piece by piece, I began to rebuild something sacred: myself.
That’s how Fix Your Crown was born.
This poetry book isn’t just a collection of words. It’s a conversation with the women who are tired, overlooked, stretched thin, or healing quietly behind closed doors. It’s a reminder that you are not alone. That your voice still matters. That your crown, even when crooked, still holds power.
Poetry has become my form of self-care.
It’s how I process pain, celebrate growth, and remind myself (and others) that we are worthy of softness, love, and liberation. Self-care isn’t always spa days or silence. Sometimes, it’s the simple act of writing what your heart has been holding and reading it back until it starts to feel like truth.
Whether you read one poem a day or finish it in one sitting, I hope these words wrap around you like a warm embrace. May they inspire you to fix your crown and maybe even help someone else fix theirs too.
Your crown was never lost. It was only waiting for you to adjust it.
📚 Fix Your Crown is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.
